User Choice Program

The User Choice Program provides funding contributions towards the cost of training and assessment. These services are available for eligible Queensland apprentices and trainees. VET in Schools (VETiS)

The beef processing industry is supported with recruitment and retention of skilled staff through representation in the Meat Processing Skills and Training Industry Reference Group. This provides the ability for industry to inform and align Queensland Government training and skills priorities and initiatives in relation to vocational education and training (VET) and VET pathways.

Some students undertake nationally recognised vocational education and training (VET) qualifications while they are still at school.

Certificate 3 Guarantee

The Certificate 3 Guarantee supports eligible individuals to complete their first post-school Certificate 3 Qualification. The program also supports school students to access training and Queensland's Year 12 graduates to transition to employment by providing free training in high priority qualifications.

TAFE and Certifications Pathways

TAFE courses and certifications are a great way to start or further your career. TAFE is vocational learning and focuses on a hands-on approach to teaching; TAFE offers in-person courses at several locations throughout Queensland and online.

Certificate Pathways

From 1 January – 31 December 2023, eligible Queenslanders will be able to undertake Fee Free TAFE at TAFE Queensland and CQUniversity only. The list of courses funded includes courses relevant to the Queensland Beef industry: ‘Certificate IV in Leadership and Management’, ‘Certificate III in Food Processing’, ‘Certificate IV in Meat Processing (Meat Safety)’, ‘Certificate IV in Meat Processing (Quality Assurance)’ and ‘Animal Welfare Officer Skill Set’.
